  1. Peachtree Boulevard Gateway Improvements:
The project proposes an intersection realignment at the intersection of Peachtree Blvd at North Shallowford and Peachtree Roads. Improvements may also provide the connection point for a future regional trail system. The result will be a more efficient, safe, and connected corridor for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists.
  2. East-West Railroad Crossing:
With limited ways to cross the tracks, the proposed effort seeks to identify a new multimodal east-west crossing to reconnect the community.
  3. Top End Express Lanes:
GDOT is building tolled express lanes (aa Managed Lanes) throughout the region’s interstate network. The CID is an interested partner in the “Top End” of the I-285 as these investments will have a 50+ year impact on the community.
  4. Shallowford Road Enhancements
This project seeks to provide multimodal, environmentally sensitive roadway improvements for a corridor connecting Buford Highway to Doraville MARTA station. Enhancements may include a cycle track, sidewalks, landscaping, pedestrian lighting and crossing signals.
  5. Buford Highway Arterial Rapid Transit (ART)/ Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)
MARTA is planning to launch ART along Buford Highway in 2024. One of the highest transit ridership corridors in the region, the service will connect the Lindbergh and Doraville transit stations.
